Survival And Prosperity: Langdon International

How did Linda Langton successfully lead her boutique literary organization through the covid-19 minefield.

Linda Langton

Linda Langton, CEO of Langton International Brokerage, is a survivor. Her whole experience is to seize the opportunity, overcome obstacles and achieve success on the road of life. She was born in Manchester, England(her father is the mayor of London), but moved to Australia after marriage. She finally became an award-winning businesswoman. After establishing and operating The Ink Group, an international credit card and calendar company worth 50 million US dollars, she packed her bags and moved to New York, where she started her agency business.

After leaving Australia, I realized my dream of living here. Nobody knows what I will do in New York. I used to be a client of the company who asked me to represent his photography books. As a very capable person, I said, “Of course, I will!” I acted as an agent in the publishing industry. I know nothing about it. At that time, no one in New York knew. “- Linda Langdon

Linda’s “able” attitude led her to establish the Langdon International Organization. In the past 22 years, more than 100 writers have successfully transformed almost all non fiction from famous women’s novels to business novels into publishing writers of various genres. Recent successes include women’s business books sold at 6-digit prices on Atia Publishing, memoirs of main animation stars, books sold at 5-digit prices on Running Press, and six “Sherlock Holmes” series books sold at international contracts on HarperCollins UK, each of which has a 5-digit transaction. Later this year, several books will be published. Including two new true crime novels by an award-winning journalist and thrillers by best-selling writers of the New York Times. In addition, some books of Langton International Agency have been adapted into four true crime books, including Trumbo and Dancing on Her Grave published by Berkley.

Linda is strong, loyal and knowledgeable, which is all the core characteristics of a successful broker. She believes in my first novel, “Art in Blood”, and has repeatedly refused to let Harper Collins trade three or five books. Now, this is what she insists on. I am very grateful. “- Bonnie MacBird, an international best-selling author

Longton International did not slow down during the outbreak of infectious diseases. Instead, the company turned to the online mode of working from home, just like many people in isolation and uncertainty. Linda found that as more and more people read and more and more writers pursue publishing, the market is also growing. Due to social isolation, writers and would-be writers have time to concentrate on writing books and submitting them to Langdon International and other places. Using zoom and video chat to connect publishers and customers has become a basic communication method, and Linda believes that this situation will not change immediately.

“Our reputation and reputation on the Internet is the driving force to find potential customers. After the infectious disease and novel coronavirus pneumonia events in the past few years, we were very busy.” – Linda Langton

Over the past few years, the company has focused on the global market. The agency will focus on the UK and European markets in the next two years, just like the United States and Canada.

The changes in the publishing industry in the past few years are not due to the novel coronavirus, but they have not helped. The other five large publishing houses merged many small ones. With the occurrence of infectious diseases, agents and industries are flooded by new authors and submitters, which makes agents and publishers more difficult. Langdon International invites writers to submit articles of mystery/terror, real crime, women’s novels, memoirs, narrative novels, business books, historical novels and biographies.

Linda recently recorded and published a Video Blog, which covers what writers should do to prepare and write articles, how to find agents, and what to do next.

Linda, a subsidiary of Langdon International Agency, recently set up the Writer’s Assistant Publishing House to publish books beyond the scope of commercial publishing. Central Park South Publishing House provides a full range of services, allowing authors to polish their own books, and provides them to bookstores and online through Amazon and eight online publishers. Central Park South encourages authors to submit their works for review. Contact: [email protected] Linda Langton and her staff are always happy to talk to potential writers if they are interested.
